Business and Tourism Awards launched
7:40am Friday 25th October 2013 in News
PROUD businesses and organisations across the borough are invited to celebrate their success.
The 2014 Halton Business and Tourism Awards have been launched by the Mayor of Halton, Clr Margaret Ratcliffe and her consort and husband, Eernie.
Paula Cain, chief executive of Halton Chamber of Commerce, said: “The awards recognise and reward excellent performance, good business practices and the successes of Halton businesses.
“The range of categories is wide, from customer service and exporting to retailing, manufacturing and developing a positive environmental impact.
“These are in addition to the prestigious Entrepreneur, Young Person, Business and New Business of the Year awards.
“Winning an award is seen as a real benefit to businesses, not just in the profile it brings, but also in what it says to potential customers and how it can increase sales.”
Two categories specifically for businesses in the tourism industry are included, Visitor Inspire and Outstanding Customer Service.
Paula added: “Tourism businesses should deliver first class customer service and at the same time inspire visitors.
“Many of our tourism businesses do exactly this and so we want to recognise excellence in these two key areas.”
The awards are open to Halton based businesses that have been trading for at least six months.
Winners will be announced at a glittering presentation evening at The Holiday Inn in Runcorn on Friday, April 11, 2014.
Businesses wishing to enter the awards can do so by visiting haltonchamber.co.uk.
The Halton Business & Tourism Awards, organised by Halton Chamber of Commerce, are now in their sixth year. They are supported by a range of organisations including sponsors Merseylink, Sci-Tech Daresbury, Ineos, ABB, Halton Employment Partnership, Liverpool LEP, Runcorn and Widnes Tourism Business Network and Halton Council.
