Runcorn teens robbed of their bikes at knifepoint
Two teenagers were robbed of their bikes at knifepoint in Runcorn.
The 14-year-old boys separated as they were riding their bikes to Taverners Youth Club in Palacefields Avenue.
One of the teenagers was approached by two unknown men, one brandishing a knife.
He threatened the victim and demanded his bike.
A short distance away, the second teenager was approached by a man who demanded his bike, threatening him with a knife. He snatched the bike and fled.
The boys raised the alarm when they got home.
The robbery happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday, October 12.
DC Tina Jackson said: "Both victims were understandably very shaken by what happened as they were threatened with a knife. “Fortunately, no violence was used and both bikes have since been recovered at an address in Runcorn.
"We take all incidents of this nature extremely seriously. Numerous enquiries have already been carried out and these enquiries are continuing.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or may have seen the offenders fleeing the scene on the bikes to come forward. We are also urging anyone who has any information regarding the identity of the offenders to contact us."
The first offender is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft 11ins and believed to aged in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a black North Face style waterproof jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt and black tracksuit/walking trousers.
The second offender is described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build with big eyes. He was wearing a black North Face or Berghaus hooded jacket with a zipped pocket.
The third offender is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft 11ins tall. He was wearing a grey cotton hooded top with a large letter O central to the design.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for anyone with any information in relation to the robbery to get in touch.
