Classic car show in Hale village
A CLASSIC car show is being held in historic Hale Village.
Organiser Ian Trimble raised £460 for prostate cancer at an inaugural event last year, which attracted more than 90 vintage vehicles.
This time he is supporting The Mark Gorry Foundation, a charity set up by a 23-year-old Widnes cancer victim, Mark Gorry, and prostate cancer.
Mark, a software designer at 02 in Preston Brook, Runcorn, vowed to raise £1 million for Clatterbridge Centre of Oncology before he lost his battle with testicular cancer in 2009.
His family, friends and campaigners have continued to support his legacy.
Ian, aged 44, a train driver, of Crabtree Close, Hale, said: “I am not sure how many vehicles are coming this time.
“Widnes Scooter Club will be turning up and Northwest Casual Classic Car Club from Warrington.”
The show will be held at the Childe of Hale pub L24 4AX and starts at 12 noon on Sunday, October 20.
