Widnes teachers raise funds for cancer sufferers
CREATIVE staff at a Widnes school baked a selection of fresh cakes and raised £200 for cancer sufferers.
Teachers at SS Peter & Paul Catholic College once again supported the world’s biggest coffee morning for Macmilan Cancer.
Teacher Pauline Ronan said: “This event is a favourite amongst the staff as it is a chance to showcase some wonderful culinary skills as well as raising vital funds for an incredibly worthy cause. The cakes produced were delicious and fun but most importantly a significant amount of money was collected.”
The money raised will help towards a Macmillan social worker or family support worker for a day, helping people manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer.
It could also contribute to a Macmillan information and support centre which would be stocked for a month with all the resources it needs to support people affected by cancer
