HALTON residents are for the first time being given the chance to light up their own personalised angel on one of Liverpool Cathedral’s Christmas trees.

People can have a name or message inscribed onto an angel bauble decoration, which will be placed on a lighted tree in the Cathedral throughout the Christmas period. They will receive a certificate and can take their angel home to keep in the New Year.

In return they are asked to give a gift of £30 to the Cathedral Foundation, which helps keep the Cathedral free to visitors, goes towards the upkeep of the building and helps to fund choral music at Christmas and throughout the year.

Cathedral Fundraiser Tina Morris said: “We hope to fill our tree with hundreds of angels that will twinkle from now until the end of the Christmas period.

“We hope that they will make the experience of visiting our cathedral at Christmas even more special and allow people to show their personal connection to Liverpool and the cathedral at this special time of year. In lighting up an angel you are also helping us to keep our cathedral free to visitors and to fund our music which is at its best at Christmas.”
