Runcorn school wins family coach firm award
A RUNCORN school is celebrating after winning a new award.
Our Lady’s RC Primary School in Lapwing Grove, Palacefields has been named ‘Anthony’s Travel School of the Year 2013’.
More than 30 schools entered a competition launched by the family coach firm in Cormorant Drive, Runcorn.
Partner Richard Bamber, aged 42, who founded the business with his parents, said: “We strongly believe that businesses, organisations, and schools no matter how big or small can all work together to bring benefits to the local community.
“Our Lady’s School is placed at the heart of their local community and share their resources as a family school for the benefit of others.
“The school already works with charities including Halton Haven Hospice, our community partner. We hope to strengthen these links to bring further benefits and understanding.”
Anthony’s Travel has pledged to support the school’s community events.
Pupils will be provided with free transport to Robinwood Residential Centre plus discounted travel throughout the year.
The school will also receive free transport related health and safety advice, prizes for events and a tour round the coach firm’s operational base.
Special Olympian, Omar Haddad, aged 24, from Widnes, sponsored by Anthony’s Travel, will visit the children.
