Hundreds pay tribute at funeral of Widnes schoolboy
THE funeral of Widnes schoolboy Toby John Wright who died in a motorbike accident has been held in Widnes today.
Hundreds of people packed into St Mary’s Church in West Bank to pay tribute to the 15-year-old Wade Deacon pupil.
The service was conducted by Rev Dawn Harrison.
He was buried in a private ceremony afterwards at Widnes Crematorium.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Liverpool said: “The prayers of the church are with the family and friends of Toby at what is a painful and difficult time.”
His teachers described him as ‘a lovely lad’ who was very caring.
Toby, from West Bank, was riding a motorbike off road on grassland in Desoto Road on Saturday, September 14, when he was struck by another rider.
