Police officer loses taser ammunition
9:26am Friday 4th October 2013 in News
AN internal review has been launched at Cheshire Police after an officer lost a cartridge that charges a taser while on duty.
Police are warning residents to look out for the cartridge. It is not dangerous and cannot be fired without a taser.
Insp Dave Price said: "The cartridge is safe to handle, and there is no risk providing it is not tampered with in any way. If found it should be handed into the nearest police station.
"This is a very rare event and a full internal review is underway."
It was lost by an officer somewhere in the county between 10am and 6pm on Wednesday.
Police say they cannot be specific about the location but that the officer was working all over Cheshire.
The cartridge was attached to his equipment vest.
