Free show to inspire Halton's older residents
A FREE inspirational show is being held to encourage Halton residents to celebrate Older People’s Day.
‘Music and Memories’ will reminisce over important moments and events from Runcorn and Widnes over the last 60 years.
Accompanied by archived footage, photos and memory boxes, it will allow you to rediscover memories and experiences.
Residents are invited to come together and roll back the years on Tuesday, October 1, at Select Stadium in Lower House Lane, Widnes.
There will be a musical twist, where participants can engage in creative activities.
A musical orchestra will play a selection of classical music and popular music from the last 60 years to capture people’s imagination.
The event is being coordinated by Wellbeing Enterprises CIC as part of the Community Wellbeing Practices initiative working with 12 GP Practices in the borough.
Mark Swift, chief executive of Wellbeing Enterprises CIC, said: “This event is a great opportunity for older people to reminisce and celebrate local historical events from the last half-century.
“It will be an inspiring event with lots of fun activities and opportunities for older people to learn about how they can improve their wellbeing.”
The event is part of a week long celebration. Organisations such as Sure Start to Later Life, Halton Libraries, Sports Development Team and Age UK will also be providing activities and information at the event for older people to improve their wellbeing.
Places for this free event are limited. To book, call the Wellbeing Enterprises team on 01928 589799 or visit www.wellbeingenterprises.org.uk
