Halton Lea store expands and creates 10 new jobs
A FAMILY-OWNED Runcorn retailer is expanding and creating 10 new jobs.
Poundworld is rebranding its current Halton Lea unit to include a new ‘Extra’ store.
The new-look store opens at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, September 25.
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld, said: “We’re really excited to be opening one of our first ‘Extra’ stores in Runcorn on Forest Walk in Halton Lea Shopping Centre.
“The idea behind the ‘Extra’ concept is to provide big value branded items and home wares as an extension to our main store. By doing this, we hope to help customers make huge savings on items that would typically cost a lot more in supermarkets or other high street retailers.
“We look forward to welcoming Runcorn’s bargain hunters through our doors and we hope our Poundworld Extra at Halton Lea Shopping Centre will be popular with savvy shoppers in the town.”
An extra 500 value products priced over £1 will be available.
Covering one-third of the existing Poundworld store, Poundworld Extra will provide shoppers with bigger and better savings on branded household items such as dishwasher tablets, washing powder and pet food. The new and exciting concept store will give bargain hunters even more opportunity to save on items above £1, lowering the cost of their weekly shop. Incredible value home wares will also be part of the concept.
Poundworld Extra is the latest development in Poundworld’s ongoing expansion. Poundworld plans to help more shoppers in the UK minimise the cost of everyday living by opening a further 100 stores in the next three years. Yorkshire-based, Poundworld was founded in 1997 and has over 200 stores across the UK.
The company plans to open a further five stores in the North West in the next year.
