Updated:Wade Deacon School pays tribute to Widnes teenager who died in motorbike crash
TEACHERS at Wade Deacon High School have paid tribue to Widnes schoolboy Toby John Wright who died after a motorbike accident on Saturday.
They described him as ‘a lovely lad’ who was very caring.
Toby, aged 15, from, West Bank joined the Birchfield Road school in 2009 and spent much of his time working closely with senior curriculum mentor, Nick Barnes.
He became very close to Toby and remembers his caring and engaging nature as well as his desire to overcome any difficulties he faced to make the best of his education and his life.
Through this process of mentoring and coaching in core subjects, he said Toby made progress in all aspects of his work.
Mr Barnes said: “Toby was a lovely lad who responded extremely well to all of the support that we put into place for him. Above all, he appreciated everything and tried his very best.”
Executive principal, Pamela Wright, OBE, spoke on behalf of the whole school community when she said:”To lose a young life is such a tragedy and is a loss that is felt by everyone in school. Our thoughts are with all of Toby’s family and everyone who knew him at such a very sad time.”
