Halton children could win designer sunglasses in colouring competition
MORE than 50 per cent of sight loss could be avoided with a simple eye test, research has shown.
To mark the start of national eye health week (16-22 September) Conlons in Widnes is offering £5 off a full eye test until the end of September.
They will also be giving free children's goodie packs containing information about how children can look after their eyes.
THe packs contains details all about how to keep their eyes healthy, from the food we eat to tips, such as not sitting too close to the television.
It also gives children exercises to keep their eyes healthy and how to protect their eyes in the sun and much more.
Conlons is also inviting children to enter a special colouring in competition to win a pair of children's designer sunglasses and have their winning entry framed in the branch for all to see.
There will also be some surprise goodies in the packs such as some sweets and a little game.
Lisa Falding, branch Manager of Conlons in Widnes, said: “Everyone should have an eye test at least every two years. We all value our sight. In fact, it's the sense most people fear losing more than any other, but many of us don't actively look after our sight.
