West Bank bids farewell to much-loved 'gentle giant'
A MEMORIAL service is being held to celebrate the life of much-loved West Bank resident John Law, hailed a ‘gentle giant’.
It takes place near the ranger’s hut at Spike Island at 1pm on Sunday, September 15.
It is a chance for local residents to reminisce.
West Bank Clr Pam Wallace said: “Generous friends have donated alongside his family to have a bench made in his memory. This will be somewhere we can sit and reminisce about our gentle giant and his unquestioned commitment to residents past and present who reside from West Bank.
“Everyone will be made welcome on Sunday, sharing stories of your recollections and rekindling friendships of those you have lost touch with.”
Tea and coffee will be served afterwards at Catalyst.
A booklet is being published to celebrate John’s life.
Friends and residents are invited to share their thoughts and memories of John.
Please write them down and give them to Sharon Unsworth or Clr Pam Wallace on Sunday or call 0151 257 8954 and someone will contact you and record your stories.
