Runcorn optician raises awareness of eye defects
A RUNCORN optician is shocked by statistics that show more than 1.8 million people in the UK are living with treatable sight loss.
P & A Morgan Opticians is encouraging people to get their eyes tested to avoid the risk of harmful eye conditions.
Optician Paul Morgan believes that National Eye Health Week which starts on September 16 is the perfect opportunity to detect any defects.
He said: “Many eye conditions show no symptoms until they reach an advanced stage, so it is vitally important that we attend regular eye health checks. A simple 30 minute eye examination could be the difference between clear, crisp vision and complete vision loss.”
Statistics provided by Future Sight Loss UK revealed that more than 53% of those living with sight loss could benefit from a simple eye test and glasses.
Mr Morgan added: “The statistics really surprised me and my team as we know how much eye health support is available.
“We understand that information about your eye health can be quite boring, but we want to show just how fun your eye care experience can be.”
Mr Morgan has more than 30 years' eye care experience and established P & A Morgan Opticians in Alcock Street, Runcorn in 1990.
