Widnes motorist threatened with hand gun
ARMED robbers forced a Widnes motorist to hand over the keys of his car in a terrifying ordeal.
Two men threatened the 34-year-old victim with what is believed to be a hand gun at his home in Eltham Close, Halton View.
They drove off in his car, an Audi S3, which was later found abandoned in Rainhill.
DC Michelle Thompson, who is investigating the incident, said: "To be threatened in this way is a frightening experience and the victim was understandably left very shaken by what happened. “Fortunately no-one was injured and the vehicle was later recovered.
"We take any incidents of this nature extremely seriously and want to reassure the local community that we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.
“Extensive enquiries are being carried including house-to-house enquiries in the local area and any relevant forensic enquiries.
"We are currently trying to piece together as much information as we can and are appealing to anyone who may have any information, which could assist with our enquiries, to come forward.”
The robbery happened at around 7pm on Friday, August 23.
The first offender is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft 6ins tall. He had a pale complexion and was wearing a dear stalker style hat, which was dark blue or black, a dark coloured tracksuit and trainers. He had a black scarf across the lower part of his face.
The second offender is described as white, believed to be in his late 20s and around 5ft ins tall and of stocky build. He was also wearing a dark blue or black dear stalker style hat, a dark blue tracksuit and trainers. He had a black balaclava covering his face.
Both men were wearing high-visibility jackets.
The weapon was not discharged during the incident and no injuries were reported.
