Record-breaking GCSE results for Runcorn academy
2:30pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
RUNCORN’s only academy has achieved record breaking GCSE results.
Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy has improved its results by 20 percent, with 99 percent of students receiving at least five or more A*-C grades.
A further 68 percent achieved at least five A*-C grades including English and maths.
Principal John Rigby said: “Our Year 11s worked exceptionally hard, attending many enrichment sessions after school, on Saturdays and in the holidays.
“They were very focused and determined to achieve their best and they have really done themselves proud. Their brilliant performance is simply down to the incredible amount of hard work they dedicated to their studies, the total commitment of OBA’s staff and the continued support of our parents over the years.
“I am absolutely delighted for them and we look forward to seeing the majority of them again in September when they join us in the Sixth Form.”
The academy opened in September 2010 and has gone from strength to strength since.
Professor Toby Salt, CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust said: “Congratulations to the principal, staff and students on a fabulous set of results. To improve by such a margin is fantastic.
“The students have worked hard to be rewarded with these outstanding results and staff have put in tireless support to produce these outcomes.”
