A COUPLE have been thanked by The Bankfield School in Widnes for donating a defibrillator.
Bob and Pauline Parker raised £2,500 to pay for the life-saving equipment and to train staff how to use it.
Defibrillators are deemed essential in preventing deaths from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).
Albie Williamson, vice chair governor of the school, said: “It is imperative that a defibrillator machine should be present in all schools to avoid these preventable deaths. It is impossible to put a price on a child’s life.”
