Nurse shaves hair for Halton Haven Hospice
9:20am Thursday 22nd August 2013 in News
A DAY nurse at Halton Haven Hospice has shaved her hair for the charity.
Sue Roberts decided to lose her locks to raise much needed funds so the hospice can treat its patients to day trips.
For just £150, eight patients and four staff members can experience a day trip like going on a barge.
Sue said: “I decided I wanted to do something mad, so I decided to take the plunge and shave my hair. I’ve received lots of compliments and I’m so pleased I’ve managed to raise over £600 for Halton Haven.
“We’ve organised quite a few day trips this year and each one is so precious for our patients who have limited prognosis. Day trips make our patients feel normal for the day; it’s about allowing people to continue to live.”
