THIS year’s Love Your Local Market was declared a success by organisers Halton Council.
The event at Widnes Market saw 264 people join the library at its pop-up stall and 2,350 visit Cheshire Police’s stand.
Events included a fashion show, where models wore costumes fashioned from goods found on stalls which proved popular with the public.
Clr Ron Hignett, Halton Council’s executive board member for the physical environment, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people supporting the fortnight.
“Let’s hope they saw enough of the great value of our markets offer for them to return again and again.”
