A STAFF member at O2 in Runcorn has struck gold after helping young people develop their business skills.

Donna Plumbley was presented with a Young Enterprise Gold Award at the charity’s 2013 presentation evening at Manchester Airport.

Receiving the award she said she was ‘humbled and honoured.’

Business support administrator Donna, who works at O2’s Preston Brook centre, has been instrumental in helping thousands of young people from across Cheshire and Merseyside take part in Young Enterprise education projects over the past two years.

She said: “Our wonderful volunteers do all of the hard work and they deserve this more than me.”

She is also part of O2’s Think big group, which encourages young people to play a positive role in their communities.

“Our wonderful volunteers do all of the hard work and they deserve this more than me,” she said.

Young Enterprise’s Warrington-based manager Eileen Jackson told how Donna had been a ‘massive’ support to the charity by encouraging her O2 colleagues to work as volunteers on a range of business education initiatives.

“Young Enterprise provides enterprise education to young people from the age of five to 24 and through the links with O2 and Donna we have created over 250 volunteer opportunities in the last two years.

“She works so hard on internal links within O2 that allow the staff to act as Young Enterprise volunteers. She has been a massive help to Young Enterprise, and is a huge credit to O2 and Think Big,” added Eileen.
