GIFTED art students from Riverside College showcased their work in the historic setting of St Paul’s Church in Victoria Square, Widnes.

A selection of original art and design pieces demonstrating, graphic design, fine art, textiles, fashion, two and three dimensional work and photography were displayed in an exhibition entitled ‘Inspired’.

Maxine Mealey, head of school, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support from the private and public viewings and the number of e-mails from the arts and academic world and the local community.

“This highlights the exceptionally high standard of the work displayed and the passion displayed for the arts.

“It is testamony to students’ hard work and dedication.

“This event brings so many new people into the church and enriches the studies of our students greatly. We are most grateful to all at St Paul’s for their continued support.”

Liverpool galleries including Tate Liverpool and Metal, Hazlehurst Studios in Runcorn, Liverpool John Moores University, professional partners and pupils from local schools attended the exhibition.
