Runcorn man, 22, arrested on suspicion of illegal money lending

A SUSPECTED loan shark has been arrested in Runcorn today.
The 22-year-oldman was arrested this morning on suspicion of illegal money lending, following a special operaion.
The England Illegal Money Lending Team working in partnership with Halton Council and Warrington Council executed a warrant at a residential property.
The suspect is currently in custody assisting officers from the team with their enquiries.
Nationally the Illegal Money Lending Teams have secured 222 prosecutions for illegal money lending and related activity, leading to more than 150 years worth of custodial sentences. They have written off almost £40 million worth of illegal debt and helped more than 19,000 victims.
