Halton's young people challenged to create health projects
6:40pm Monday 11th March 2013 in News By Barbara Jordan
YOUNG people are being challenged to come up with ideas for exciting projects to improve the health and wellbeing of Halton’s community.
Mark Swift, managing director of Wellbeing Enterprises, said: “"We are looking to hear from young people aged 16 or over.
"Halton Youth Provision has grants of up to £1,000 for young volunteers to deliver their projects either in the community setting or within one of a number of GP practices in Halton."
Ideas could include arts and creative events, sports and fitness projects or music groups.
Youngsters can develop their own projects, planning and team working skills, with support from a dedicated team.
John Bucknall, commissioning manager, children and enterprise directorate at Halton Council, said: "We are very keen to encourage young people to take an active role in improving the health and wellbeing of the community, and promote social entrepreneurship."
Young people can apply by calling 01928 589799 or e-mail info@wellbeingenterprises.org.uk, by April 7.
