CHILDREN were invited for a sneak preview of bunny rabbits as a new £298,000 Pets At Home outlet opened in Widnes.
The store, beside B&M on Bowers Retail Park, has created seven jobs.
It will provide thousands of pet product for dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, chickens, birds, fish and wildlife.
Pupils from Simms Cross Primary School joined Halton Mayor and Mayoress, Clrs Tom and Angela McInerney to launch the new venture.
Store manager Tom Christopher has worked with the company for eight years.
He said: “It will offer everything a pet owner could wish for, all under one roof.
“We will provide plenty of advice and ideas for customers and we welcome pets of all shapes and sizes.”
The company, founded in 1991, has more than 335 stores across the UK, employing more than 5,900 people.
Tom, who has a cross collie called Corey, said: “We are all passionate about pets. I enjoy interacting with customers and giving them the help and advice they need.”
