Occupants escape blazing flat in Runcoen

Three firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the Birch Road blaze out
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a flat fire in Runcorn on Saturday.
Initially, crews feared someone may have been trapped inside the burning building in Birch Road, but once they went inside, they discovered everyone had safely escaped.
Three firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the blaze out.
A second team cleared smoke from a communal staircase.
The fire broke out at around 5pm.
The cause of the fire is not known.
