ENTRANTS can now apply for the annual Easter Sunday Run The Bridge five mile road race on March 31.

Halton Council and Hale Road Race Committee have teamed up with Halton Haven to raise money for the hospice.

More than 700 runners took part in last year’s event.

The route starts at Runcorn railway station, and crosses the bridge to historic Hale village.

Now in its 14th year, organisers are hoping it will be bigger and better than ever.

Ciaran Clotworthy, hospice events manager, said: “This is guaranteed to be a fantastic road race come rain or shine.

"There is always a brilliant atmosphere on the day with our local community coming together in this friendly competition.

“Why not do a bit more this year and get yourself sponsored for running the event and support your local hospice.”

The entry fee has been frozen at 2012 prices, £12 for club runners and £14 for non-club runners.

You can enter online at runhalton.co.uk or pick up a form at Halton Direct Link buildings, until March 26.

Alternatively, you can sign up on the day, from 7am to 8.30am , in Picow Farm Road car park, with an additional £3 late entry fee.

For sponsorship forms, call the Halton Haven fundraising team on 0151 495 2111.
