Detectives hunt for two attackers after man was assaulted

DETECTIVES are hunting for two suspects following an assault in Widnes, which left a man with a fractured cheek bone.
A 43-year-old man was smoking outside a restaurant in Widnes Road when two men walked past and became involved in a verbal altercation with him.
The victim shouted at them and they returned.
One of the men punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground, and then kicked him.
He sustained a fractured cheek bone, a cut under his left eye and a cut to the back of his head as a result of the incident.
He was treated in hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.
The attackers walked off towards Widnes town centre.
Detectives have issued CCTV stills of two men they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Widnes.
The incident took place on Sunday, January 13, at around 8.50pm.
Police are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or who was in the area at the time and has seen anything significant to get in touch.
