A GIFTED young dancer is following in the footsteps of Billy Elliot.

Heath pupil Liam Prescott, aged 12, from Weston Village, Runcorn, only started lessons two years ago and is already making exceptional progress.

He had a masterclass in London at an all boys ballet day and loved every minute.

His dance teacher, Ashley Jacobs, aged 20, of Heath Road, said: “He has tremendous potential. His passion for dance makes a big difference. He has natural flair. He just took to it like a duck to water.

“Working with 100 boys in London gave him a lot of confidence. He is already putting what he learnt there into practice.”

Former Heath pupil, Ashley, set up her Art In Motion Dance and Theatre School in 2010.

More than 200 children learn ballet, tap, modern, street, jazz and musical theatre in classes at St Mary’s Church Hall in Halton Village.

They will be performing in a show at The Brindley in November.
