COMIC John Bishop gave Runcorn children lots of fun ideas to raise cash for needy children.

He visited pupils at St Edward’s Catholic Primary School in Wivern Place on Thursday and presented an assembly on Comic Relief.

Head teacher Karen O’Hare said: “Everyone was delighted to see John. He was wonderful with the children.

“He talked about Comic Relief and made everyone laugh.

“He also talked about his trip to Sierra Leone last year for Sport Relief.”

One of the children’s suggestions was to throw wet sponges at teachers, which John thought was an excellent idea.
