WHETHER you’re browsing a newspaper or magazine, reading a book or enjoying a comic, tell us all about it, says Halton Council.
Residents are invited to tweet what they are reading on Saturday, February 9, to celebrate national libraries day.
Library staff will be re-tweeting many of the messages to all their followers and you will soon find yourself part of an online community.
Clr Phil Harris, board member for libraries, said: “Libraries are a very important part of the community.
“New technology has made reading even more accessible to the public. This is something we should be celebrating. “ Around 90 per cent of people who took part in a recent survey said that Halton’s libraries were good or very good.
Book lending, staff support, computer facilities, information and children’s activities were given as the five most important services provided.
More than 60 per cent said customer care was very good and more than half were happy with opening hours.
