Man, 24, attacked in street robbery

A MAN was struck on the head in a vicious robbery in Runcorn.
Police today appealed for witnesses.
The 24-year-old victim was walking along Greenway Road through an alleyway near the Co-op when he was approached from behind by four men.
He was hit on the back of the head and fell to the ground.
The men then demanded his mobile phone and cash.
They searched his pockets before leaving the scene without taking anything.
The victim suffered bruising as a result of the incident, which happened at around 8pm on Thursday, January 31.
The first man is described as white, about 5ft 9ins tall, and aged between 19 and 20. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and trainers.
The second man is described as being about 6ft 2ins tall with a large build. He was wearing black clothing.
The third man was also wearing black clothing.
Anyone with any information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 871 of 31 January 2013.
