A NEW support group has been launched to help the unemployed surf the internet to find jobs.

Castlefields work club will offer people training on how to use the web to search for and apply for jobs or training.

Jeff O’Carroll, Plus Dane neighbourhood engagement officer, said: “The club offers support in a friendly, non-pressured way so people can find out what employers are looking for.

“So many things, including job adverts and benefit payments are moving on-line, so it is vital that people get to grips with the internet.”

The support, which is all free of charge, is offered by housing associations Plus Dane Group and Liverpool Housing Trust as well as Riverside College, the National Career Service and others.

The club is held in Castlefields Community Centre every Friday, from 1pm to 3pm and is open to anyone.
