CHILDREN are now able to skip to school safely along a new footpath, thanks to the generosity of a local firm.
Rockwood Additives has sponsored a project to widen a path at Moorfield Primary School, that was posing a health and safety problem.
The company is a neighbour of the school in Moorfield Road, Halton View.
Head teacher Andy Williams said: “All schools nationally have a finite budget which always seemed to be stretched to its limits. For several years we have had problems with this main access pathway.
“Having discussed the problem with Sue Fox at Rockwood, she was only too pleased to help. We are truly grateful to them for coming to our rescue.
“The support that Rockwood has given to their local community during difficult financial times is a measure of their incredible kindness and generosity."
Rockwood managers, Sue Fox and Andrew Smallwood cut a ribbon to declare the new path open.
