A COURAGEOUS young mum who lost her fight against cancer has touched the hearts of hundreds of people.

Katie Daintith, aged 25, from Farnworth in Widnes, vowed to conquer her illness after she was diagnosed in November, 2011.

She raised thousands of pounds for CLIC Sargeant to thank them for supporting her husband, Peter, and their two-year-old daughter, Kimberley.

Despite constant setbacks, Katie’s strength and dermination continually inspired everyone around her as she wrote a personal blog of her journey.

She encouraged friends to climb mountains and jump out of planes, saying: ‘Live your life like each day matters. Don’t allow anyone to to change or destroy your dreams.’ Her friends have posted tender tributes on social media sites.

Katy Wilson posted: Your fight and your courage has made a difference to so many people’s lives. You really are a truly beautiful, positive person who has touched the hearts of a lot of people including myself.

“Your blog has taught me not to take life for granted.”

Kate McCrystal posted: “My beautiful angel. Your heart inspired us to be grateful, your smile inspired us to believe, your presence made us calm and your complete courage inspired me to jump out of a plane in your honour.”

Pamela Wright, executive head teacher at Wade Deacon, said: “Katie was a gifted student, becoming head girl in 2003, the highest award that our school can bestow.
