The body of an 84-year-old man was discovered by firefighters after they were called to tackle the blaze on Lockett Road
AN elderly man has died in a house fire in Widnes.
The body of an 84-year-old man was discovered by firefighters after they were called to tackle a blaze in Lockett Road at 10.25pm last night.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Sadly, the occupant of the property, an 84-year-old man, was found deceased inside the property.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
