Police appeal after woman's handbag is stolen

POLICE today appealed for information after a woman had her handbag stolen in Widnes.

The 60-year-old woman was walking along New Bank Road in Hough Green, when she was approached by a man.

He grabbed her handbag and ran off.

The robbery happened at around 4.30pm on Friday, January 25.

The offender is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, with a stocky build and light coloured eyes. He was wearing a black bobble hat, and black zipped jacket. His face was concealed with a black scarf.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 652 of 25 January.

Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
