POLICE are appealing for information after a quad bike was stolen in Widnes.

A recovery driver was transporting it along Montague Road when he was approached by two men in a dark coloured Ford Focus.

They demanded he release the quad bike.

He took it off the vehicle and the offenders fled with it.

DC Neal Davidson, of Widnes CID, said: "We appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information which could assist with our enquiries to please come forward."

The robbery happened at about 8pm, on Thursday, January 17.

The quad bike was dark in colour.

The first man is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft ins tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue and white ski hat, a dark coloured coat and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

The second man is described as white, in his mid 20s, about 6ft 1in tall with a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured parker style coat with a fur lined hood and spoke with a Liverpool accent.
