Woman, 72, knocked to the ground and mugged

AN elderly lady was knocked to the ground and mugged by a teenager in Runcorn.
The 72-year-old victim was walking along Drayton Close in Murdishaw when a youth approached her from behind and grabbed her handbag.
The woman suffered grazes and bruises.
DC Catherine Jones, of Runcorn CID, said: “This is a particularly shocking case where an offender has targeted an elderly lady."
Detectives today appealed for witnesses.
The robbery happened at around 6.40pm, on Friday, January 11.
The offender is described as a teenager, between 5ft 1in and 5ft 2ins tall, and of slim build.
He had his head covered and was wearing a dark navy jacket.
