Man, 55, attacked and robbed in Widnes

A MAN was mugged and robbed in Widnes in a vicious attack.
The 55-year-old man was walking along Eric Street when he was assaulted and knocked the the ground.
Whilst he lay there, the offender stole his wallet containing cash and cards and ran off towards Peelhouse Lane.
No weapon was used.
The victim was left shaken by his ordeal but did not need hospital treatment.
The robbery happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday, January 6.
Detectives today appealed for witnesses.
The offender is described as a white man, about 26-years-old, between 6ft 2ins and 6ft 4ins, tall with a stocky build. He had dark coloured hair and was wearing a hooded top.
