Fiona Phillips
TV presenter Fiona Phillips is coming to Widnes.
She is opening a pioneering £6 million residential development for retired people in Widnes, that has its own bistro, hair and beauty salon and spa.
The TV star was chosen to cut the ribbon at Halton Housing Trust’s extra care scheme, Naughton Fields in Liverpool Road, because of her on-going commitment to issues affecting older people.
She will be in Widnes on Thursday, January 17.
After presenting GMTV for 12 years, Fiona left to focus on other television projects and presented a number of different programmes.
She worked on two very personal films, ‘Mum, Dad, Alzheimer’s and Me’ for Channel 4 as part of their highly acclaimed Dispatches series.
Fiona is heavily involved with a number of older person’s charities and is an ambassador for Age UK and an Alzheimer’s Society patron.
