Hale village murder trial resumes

A MURDER trial into the killing of Widnes dad-of-three Wayne Basnett is due to resume today.
The jury was discharged at Chester Crown Court in May last year for legal reasons.
Mr Basnett, aged 30, of Mayfield Avenue, Hough Green, was found shot in the head in Pepper Street, Hale Village, shortly after midnight on December 22, 2012.
Michael Eves, aged 24, of Edenhall Drive, Halewood, denies murder.
The trial is expected to last for six weeks.
