Special healthy lifestyle event for Widnes residents

TIPS on how to cook nutritious food, buy cut price fresh fruit and vegetables, and lead a a healthier lifestyle are being offered to Widnes residents.
A health and wellbeing themed area forum is being held from 4pm on Tuesday, January 22, at Stobart Stadium.
Clr Eddie Jones, board member for economic development, said: "The Government has set some significant social changes in train and we felt it vital to try and provide some explanation and information in order to aid our residents in their adjustment to these changing circumstances.”
Anyone living in the Appleton, Kingsway and Riverside wards is invited.
A healthy cooking demonstration will show how easy it is to prepare tasty dishes and visitors will be able to have their blood pressure checked.
A health bus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Halton Credit Union, New Shoots fruit and veg service, and Diabetes Support will be offer advice.
Light refreshments will be served.
David Gray from Halton Council and Claire Creed from Halton Housing Trust will talk about changes in the benefit system coming in in April.
An area forum meeting starts at 6pm.
