Operatic Society performs musical comedy in Runcorn

ONE of the finests of all Edwardian musical comedies is being staged at The Brindley.

The Bentley Operatic Society presents The Arcadians from Tuesday, February 5 to Saturday, February 9.

It combines the brilliant style of humour and music typified by the famous Gilbert and Sullivan operettas with the newly-invented genre of American- burlesque theatre, adapted to an English “Gaiety Girl” chorus form.

It has a typical music comedy theme of “poor girl meets aristocrat and wins him against all odds, with a misunderstanding in the second act and an engagement at the end.

Tickets are £10 on Tuesday, £12 on Wednesday and Thursday and £14 on Friday and Saturday from the box office on 0151-907 8360 or online at thebrindley.org.uk
