Robber threatens staff at Widnes shop

A ROBBER burst into a Widnes shop and threatened staff with a padlock and chain.
Detectives are now examining CCTV footage and are appealing for witnesses.
The man stole a quantity of cash from the M ‘n’ S Late shop in Derby Road and ran off.
He is believed to have turned left out of the shop and fled along Derby Road towards Peel House Lane.
DC Matt Gagen said: "Members of staff were not injured as a result of the incident but they were left shaken by their ordeal.
“We take all incidents of this nature extremely seriously and are doing all we can to trace the offender.
"We are currently carrying out a number of enquiries including CCTV enquiries, any relevant forensic enquiries and house-to-house enquiries.
"We are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and has witnessed what happened or has any information, which might assist with our enquiries, to come forward."
The incident happened at around 7.15pm, on Saturday, December 23.
The robber, who had his face covered, is described as tall and slim Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 855 of 23 December.
