REHEARSALS are well under way for Halton’s festive panto, Jack and The Beanstalk.

Coronation Street actor Bruno Langley, the soap’s first gay character, Todd Grimshaw, is playing the leading role at the fun-filled show which opens at The Brindley on Friday, December 14.

Bruno said: "Rehearsals are going really well.

“We are really gellling as a cast and having a lot of fun.

"The schedule is hard work, but it will all be worth it to see people's faces on the opening night."

Bruno plays Jack Trott opposite Camille Mesnart, from TV's talent search Over The Rainbow, who is Jill.

Brookside's Sarah White adds more stardust to the cast as the fairy godmother.

Nick Newbould is Silly Billy, Paula Bell plays Queen Blunderbore, Jamie Greer is Dame Trot and Joshua Mumby is Fleshcreep.

The show runs until Sunday, January 13, 2013.
