A CREATIVE schoolboy has won a Christmas card competition.
Children were challenged by Conlons opticians in Albert Road, Widnes, to design a card featuring Father Christmas wearing glasses.
Five-year-old Lewis Crane, of Wharfedale, Greenhouse Farm, Runcorn, won an easel, colouring equipment, and a pair of designer sunglasses.
Lewis, a pupil at St Martin’s RC Primary School in Murdishaw received a framed copy of his card and some to keep for his family.
His mum, Jo, said: “Lewis was delighted with his prize.”
Lewis’s cards will be sent to hundreds of Conlons customers and suppliers across the UK.
Conlons managing director John Welsby, judged the competition with marketing director, Lyndsay Johnson.
They received more than 30 entries.
Mr Welsby said: “There were a lot of really lovely cards. We chose Lewis’ design because, for a five-year-old, it showed a huge amount of thought had gone into it. There was a lot of originality. It was great
