CASTLEFIELDS residents are looking forward to a warmer winter after Liverpool Housing Trust completed a major energy improvement project on several homes in the area.
The modifications include thermal insulation, newly rendered walls and roofs and in some cases new heating systems.
As well as improving the appearance of the properties the work could save occupants up to £300 per year on their energy bills.
“The houses look lovely and I’m so pleased,” said Mrs Mooney of Hedge Hey.
“I now only need put the heating on for half an hour. I suffer with arthritis and struggle in the winter so this project has made a major difference to me.”
LHT’s asset and projects manager Wayne McDonald added: “This project has dramatically improved the homes and wider community aesthetically as well as thermally.
“It demonstrates the added benefits of a community-wide partnership approach to delivering major energy improvement programmes.”
