A WIDNES pop group recently celebrated the worldwide release of its new single.

Electronic act Masters of the Radio’s latest release, ‘Wings’, is available for download from services such as iTunes and Amazon and has attracted praise from Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure founder Vince Clarke.

The single’s release is the culmination of four years’ hard work for frontman, songwriter and producer Anthony Paul Stevens, who formed the group in 2008 while in college.

Anthony, aged 21, fro, the Weates estate, said: “The first four years have gone rather well. Progress has always been made with our sound, at first were mainly electro-pop but now the music is very varied.”

He hopes the single’s release will fuel the national and international ambitions he has for the band in the near future.

He added: “We’re planning to tour the UK next year and are looking into the possibility of some dates in the US at some point.”
