VERY few people voted in yesterday’s election for Cheshire’s first police and crime commissioner, it has been revealed.
The turnout in Halton was only 9.6 per cent.
Figures for the rest of the county were Warrington 13.33 per cent, Cheshire West & Chester 13.2 per cent, and Cheshire East 16.68 per cent.
Votes for the five candidates will be counted this afternoon.
The count starts at 2pm in the Northgate Arena, Chester.
Halton Council chief executive David Parr, the police area returning officer for Cheshire, will declare the results later today.
