A WIDNES school is celebrating after Ofsted inspectors awarded higher marks after a new, more robust and rigorous inspection.

Moorfield Primary School in Moorfield Road, Halton View, was hailed an improving school after graded as satisfactory in January, this year.

Head teacher Andy Williams said: “This report is a superb achievement.

“Moorfield is a very good school where children are given the opportunity to thrive in a stimulating environment.

“We are a dedicated team and I feel that this report is a true reflection of our school and of the commitment demonstrated by all. I am extremely proud of our achievements and would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our success."

Lead Inspector Shirley Herring said: “The best lessons move at a fast pace to keep pupils involved and accelerate their learning.

“Pupils take great pride and care in their work and the standard of presentation in their books is a delight to see.”
